Tablecloth Material
Different tablecloths can always give different effects to the table decoration. YauSpark's tablecloths are divided into 6 categories: polyester, spandex, satin/satin, cotton and linen, organza/yarn, sequins/rose embellishment, etc.Let us briefly introduce the advantages and disadvantages of the above fabrics to help you make a better choice.
1. Polyester
Polyester fabric is a kind of chemical fiber fabric used very much in daily life. Its biggest advantage is that it has good wrinkle resistance and shape retention. Therefore, it is very suitable for use as tablecloths and chair covers.
Advantages of polyester:
1). Strong hygroscopicity: The strength of the fiber is very high, and because the hygroscopicity of the fiber is relatively low, the wet strength and dry strength of the fabric are basically the same, so the impact resistance of the fabric will be very natural.
2). Excellent elasticity: The elasticity of the fabric is close to wool, and the fabric can quickly return to its original state after being deformed by force.
3). Good wrinkle resistance: The wrinkle resistance of polyester fabric is also very strong. The fabric made of this fabric is not easy to wrinkle, and the dimensional stability is very good.
4). Durable: The fabric has good heat resistance, strong light resistance, and good thermoplasticity. It can be made into various chemical products with very good performance. It is very durable and has a long service life.
Disadvantages of polyester:
1). Poor dyeing. Because of the material problem of this synthetic fiber, this fiber is not easy to absorb color, and the dye molecules are not easy to enter the fiber. If the dye enters, it is very difficult to change color. Because of the poor dyeing, the color will not be particularly bright, but there is a certain advantage, that is, it will not fade easily.
2). Poor melting resistance, that is, this fabric is very easy to melt, and it is easy to form holes when encountering cigarette ash, sparks, etc. Therefore, when using it, try to avoid contact with cigarette butts, sparks, etc.
3). Poor hygroscopicity. The moisture absorption of polyester fabric is very poor. It is not breathable, feels stuffy, and easily attracts dust. Because the fibers of this synthetic fabric are arranged closely, even dye molecules are not easy to enter, so the breathability of this is relatively poor. Because this fabric does not absorb moisture very much, it is very easy to dry after washing, and it is almost not easy to get wet and deform.
4). It is easy to pilling. This is the biggest disadvantage of this fabric, so this fabric must pay attention to the problem of wear and pilling when using it.
2. Spandex
Spandex fabric, also known as polyurethane fiber fabric. Spandex is a polyurethane fiber. Because of its excellent elasticity, it is also called elastic fiber. It can be widely used in chair covers and chair back decorations. It has the characteristics of high elasticity.
The main characteristics of spandex are:
1). Spandex has very high elasticity. Generally, products do not use 100% polyurethane. Most of them are mixed in the fabric at a ratio of 5~30%. The various spandex fabrics obtained have a comfortable elasticity of 15%~45%.
2). Spandex fabrics are often made of composite yarns, that is, spandex is used as the core, and other fibers (such as nylon, polyester, etc.) are used as the skin layer to make core-spun yarn stretch fabrics. It has good adaptability to objects and is very suitable for tight chair covers.
3). Spandex has high extensibility, low elastic modulus and high elastic recovery rate. It has moderate thermal stability and a softening temperature of about 200°C.
4). Spandex is sweat-resistant, seawater-resistant, and resistant to various dry cleaning agents and most sunscreens. It will also fade if exposed to sunlight or chlorine bleach for a long time, but the degree of fading varies greatly depending on the type of spandex.
3. Satin/segment surface
Satin fabric, also called sardine, is mostly polyester fabric. Its front side is very bright and the back side is dull, a bit like silk, and has good drape. It is a fabric that is luminous on one side and non-luminous on the other side. Its ingredients are not limited to polyester, but also silk, cotton, nylon, etc. Cotton satin is also called cotton satin, also known as tribute satin. This fabric is widely popular, has good gloss and drape, and is soft to the touch with a simulated silk effect.
The fabric style of satin fabric is unique, with a good satin glitter visual effect. It occupies a place in the fabric market with its advantages of lightness, softness, comfort and gloss. The colors are bright, rich, beautiful and generous, and it is very bright and beautiful to use it to make tablecloths or chair covers.
4. cotton and linen
Cotton and linen are cotton cloth containing linen, also known as cotton and linen interwoven fabrics. Jute cloth is rough, hard to the touch, and has many hairy feathers, and has many disadvantages. The cotton and jute interwoven fabric successfully developed by fabric post-finishing is called cotton and linen cloth.
Cotton and linen cloth has the unique rough style of jute, but the feel reaches the level of similar linen cloth, and the price is lower than linen.
Cotton and linen cloth is dyed in various colors and has rich colors. Because the fabric is relatively thick and the jute fiber has the unique high moisture absorption and release characteristics, the fabric is particularly suitable for tablecloths, table mats, and napkins.
Advantages of cotton and linen:
1). Good breathability and perspiration permeability. Cotton and linen can absorb sweat and micro-perspiration on human skin, so that body temperature quickly returns to normal, truly achieving breathability and sweat absorption effects, warm in winter and cool in summer, especially suitable for contact with skin.
2). Comfortable, anti-itching, skin-friendly, acidic pH value, no irritation to the skin, in line with environmental protection and human health requirements.
3). Anti-static, no bulging, no curling. Cotton and linen are sewn with pure cotton, without free charge, cotton fibers are not easy to deform and do not pill.
5. Organza/yarn
Organza, a light gauze with a transparent or translucent texture, is mostly covered on satin or silk. Wedding dresses designed by the French often use organza as the main raw material.
Plain, transparent, bright colors after dyeing, light texture, similar to silk products, organza is very hard. As a chemical fiber lining and fabric, it is not only used to make wedding dresses, but also can be used to make curtains, sugar bags, tablecloths, and chair back bows.
Ordinary organza contains 100% poly, 100% nylon, polyester and nylon, polyester and rayon, nylon and rayon interwoven, etc. Through post-processing such as wrinkling, flocking, hot stamping, coating, etc., it has more styles and a wider range of applications.
Organza is a wooly monofilament made by adding elastic false twist to nylon or polyester mother yarn, and then splitting it into two yarns, also known as Green yarn.
Maintenance method:
1). It is not advisable to soak organza in cold water for too long, generally 5 to 10 minutes is the best. It is best to choose a neutral detergent, which cannot be machine washed. It should be gently rubbed when hand washed to prevent fiber damage.
2). Organza fabric is acid-resistant but not alkali-resistant. To keep the color bright, you can drop a few drops of acetic acid into the water when washing, and then soak the fabric in water for about ten minutes, pick it up and dry it, so that the color of the fabric can be maintained.
3). It is best to dry with water, ice-clean and shade-dry, and turn the fabric over to dry. Do not expose it to the sun to prevent affecting the strength and color fastness of the fiber.
4). Organza products should not be sprayed with perfume, fresheners, deodorants, etc. Do not use mothballs when storing, because organza products will absorb odors or cause discoloration.
5). If you need to stack them, put them on the top layer to avoid long-term storage and deformation.
6. Sequins/rose embellishment
Sew beautiful sequins and roses on polyester or spandex, satin backing to increase the beauty of the fabric, forming a unique sequin fabric.
If there are stains, clean the backing to prevent them from spreading. Use a mild detergent to gently rub the stains, do not rub. Rinse with cold water. For a more thorough cleaning, hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Gently spin dry, focusing on the stains.
